Deadline Nears For Capturing The East Riding Competition

Anyone with a passion for the East Riding and for is reminded that if they wish to enter the Capturing the East Riding Competition they have just four weeks left to submit their entries.

The deadline for this amateur contest is Friday, 30 September, after which entries will be judged and the winners entered into an East Riding-wide competition, culminating in an exhibition at the in the 2012 Olympic Year.

Hilary Saynor, chair of the East Riding Cultural Partnership, said: “We have been impressed with the standard of entries submitted so far. There is clearly a lot of talent here in our area. We are pleased that the competition has stirred people’s imaginations and encouraged them to participate in an East Riding-wide arts initiative.”

Councillor , cabinet portfolio holder for rural issues and cultural services, said: “This competition is an excellent opportunity for photographers to be creative and reflect on the diversity and uniqueness of the East Riding.

“I would urge anyone with a passion for to go out and take photos of what the East Riding means to them and with the different people, places and events there is a wealth of subject matter.”
