Beverley Bandits won their Merit Final on Sunday beating Scarborough Danesmen in a pulsating final 31-28 at Hullensians RUFC.
Beverley camped on their opponent’s line on a few occasions without being able to break their defence. Scarborough scored two long distant intercept tries with their fast running backs but was allowed little possession from the set pieces.
A close encounter was in the balance right till the final whistle as the Danesmen missed a chance to level the scores with a penalty 2 minutes from time and the Bandits hung on to record a fabulous victory to cap a fine season.
