Beverley 10k 2011 – Information for Spectators

The race starts at 11.15 next to the Minster in Eastgate and finishes in .  The fastest runners will complete the course in about 30 minutes while the slowest are expected to take no longer than 80 minutes.

The race route passes along the following roads:

•    York Road
•    Newbald Road
•    Coppleflat Lane (Mill Lane) – from Heads to lights
•     B1230 – from lights to Beverley Club
•     Road
•     Road
•    St Mary’s Terrace
•    Newbegin
•    Old Waste
•    Toll Gavel
•    Butcher Row

There are a number of vantage points for spectators in the town centre:

•    Start – Eastgate and
•    Finish – Toll Gavel and Butcher row

Those preferring to be out on the course could watch runners at the 1-mile point on Newbald Road and then walk across the to Road to see them at 5½ miles.

There is always a terrific atmosphere in Beverley on race day with hundreds of streaming into the town centre to run or watch the race.  This year several have been engaged to provide around the town.

•    Rockhouse will be in Angel Square to encourage the runners along the last few metres to the finish in .

After the race, family and friends are advised to meet up with runners at the centre to minimise congestion in the finish area in where all 1200 competitors will finish within about 50 minutes of each other.

Fun Run
The popular B&A Scaffolding 2k fun run precedes the 10k at 10.30.  It starts and finishes on field at the centre.  Runners will be supported by Bertie and Roary the Tiger.  It is also hoped that KR’s Rufus Robin and ’s Airlie Bird will join them.
