This weekend Beverley RUFC make the relatively short trip to the West Riding to take on Sandal RFC in the National League 3 (North) fixture.
Lying just 1 place above the Beavers in the league table, Sandal have won 2 more games than Beverley RUFC and will be a tough proposition on their own ground.
Certainly Beverley RUFC will need to play a lot better than they did last week against Darlington Mowden Park, when they lost a game that they should have won. Individuals in the side played well generally but, particularly in the first half, they were hopelessly tactically naïve, and persistently tried to run the ball out of defence or bash it up the middle. These tactics need revising quickly if the Beavers are not to find themselves in a relegation battle.
No team this season has looked better than Beverley RUFC but nearly all of them play a more sensible tactical game.
For this weekend’s game they select from the following squad after training which takes place later this week.
