Beavers Missing Key Players For Trip To Cheshire

Beverley RUFC open their League campaign with a visit to league newcomers Burnage RFC in Cheshire.

Despite having a successful pre-season with victories over Hull Ionians and Malton & Norton, the Beavers start their campaign with a somewhat depleted squad.

First choice winger Goran Jelencic is suspended following his dismissal against Hull Ionians, centre Sam Atiola is awaiting his visa renewal and is, therefore, not available for selection.

Last season’s first choice lock Gavin Gibson has apparently retired or joined Hull Ionians, the club is not sure which since he says the former and Ionians say the latter.

Newly signed lock Max Alderson is held up in New York as a result of hurricane Irene. Hardly an ideal start then for the Beavers!

Newly promoted Burnage are sure to be keen to make an early impression and a severe test is anticipated.
