Armistice Day: Beverley’s Silent Tribute

The town centre of Beverley came to a standstill as The British Royal Legion, officials and members of the public observed a two-minute silence.

Staff from the surrounding businesses joined shoppers on the streets as the town of Beverley paid their respect on Armistice Day.

The ceremonies commemorate those who died in two world wars and later conflicts, including 385 UK personnel killed in Afghanistan since 2001.

Paul as ever my thanks for recording the events which make our Town so special.

Here here and I think it’s high time Paul was officially recognised for this. He goes above and beyond the call of duty. His impact is far reaching and I personally send his links world-wide. Well done and long may it continue!

Beverley’s silent tribute was once again led by the Old Members Band of CLB.
We have been playing at the Market Cross for several years on 11 November and consist of seven buglers and drummers, one Mr Harry Wigham being the oldest member of any CLB Brigade in the Country. Unfortunately the full representation of all the buglers is not represented in the above photo’s.

We are open to any ex CLB members to join our small group and meet every Wednesday night at 8.00 on the top floor of the CLB Headquarters on George Street.
