Little Monkeys, the indoor soft play centre which is part of Hull’s Active+ sports and leisure facility has partnered with Evoke Technologies, FootyTots and Aim Higher to provide a fun filled day for SEND children and their families.

“We have always offered SEN sessions and at our first one after the last Lockdown we had forty families attend,” said Dawn Sedman, Active+ Operations Director.

“So many parents thanked us for putting it on, as they have felt so isolated over the last year, particularly as some SEND children are more vulnerable to Covid.

“It was after listening to them we realised there was a massive demand for a full day, and to get lots of charities involved to offer much-needed support.”

There are seventeen businesses and charities confirmed to attend the day, from local parent groups to a mental health charity, and plenty of centres that offer post age daycare.

Activities on the day include football, multi-sports, sensory immersion van, sensory floor, crafts, Little Monkeys soft play, and Beetle’s sensory den.

“Our children need a safe place to play and Little Monkeys have always put on sessions for our families, says Nicky Robinson of Aim Higher, a charity empowering families facing Autism, Mental Health, and Educational Barriers.

“As a parent, it’s very hard to find all the relevant information and meet parents in a similar situation, so this day will be very welcome for families of SEND children.”

The day is running from 10am – 3pm, and split into two sessions – 10am – 12pm and 1-3pm. It’s aimed at children up to 16 years of age of all disabilities and costs £7 per child (free to adults).

Demand is expected to be very high, so families are urged to book their place ASAP.

To book, call 01482 447766 or email: info@active-plus.uk.
