East Riding Council has announced details of the reopening of East Riding Libraries, Mobile Libraries, and its Customer Service Centres and Multi-Service Centres from Monday, 12 April, in line with the government’s roadmap.

East Riding Libraries will continue to offer the Order and Collect service at the door for those customers who prefer to use it, and will also be open for limited browsing (maximum of 30 minutes, which may be reduced at the busiest times). 

Customers wishing to browse will need to bring their library card in order to borrow items in a safe contactless way. (The library at Haltemprice will not be able to offer to browse, and Leven library will offer the Order and Collect service at the door only).

From Monday, 19 April, public PCs will be available for essential use only, and 30-minute slots will be available to book. Staff will not be able to provide assistance. (These facilities will not be available at Haltemprice or Leven).

Caddy liners will be available at the door. There will be a strict limit on the number of customers at all sites, so queueing is likely. Customers are reminded that only single households/support bubbles will be allowed – mixed households will not be able to visit a site together.

Mobile Libraries will continue their usual service, and Short Stay routes will restart on Monday, 12 April. They will offer the Order and Collect service at the door, and limited browsing (one customer on the vehicle at any one time).  Customers wishing to browse will need to bring their library card in order to borrow items in a safe way.   Caddy liners will be available at the door. Public PCs will not be available, because of the limited space.

Customer Service Centres (CSCs) :  Customer services will be available by appointment only – for enquiries that cannot be dealt with over the telephone or via the website, customers should still call 393939 to make the initial enquiry and an appointment will be arranged. The CSCs will be open for payments, limited to one customer at a time.  In order to make payments in the safest & fastest way, customers should bring a copy of their bill or barcode with them.       Caddy liners will be available at the door.

Multi-Service Centres (MSCs): Customer services will be available by appointment only –  for enquiries that cannot be dealt with over the telephone or via the website, customers should still call 393939 to make the initial enquiry and an appointment will be arranged. (Appointments not currently available at Haltemprice).
