With grassroots football remaining suspended due to the national restrictions that came into effect the East Riding County Football League, like many grassroots leagues nationally, is currently waiting to find out how the UK Government’s plans to ease the lockdown restrictions will impact on the remainder of this season.

With the unknown timescales and each level of football having differing challenges brought about by the restrictions, the FA have advised leagues that they can each determine how they wish to conclude their season.

Over the past weeks, members of the Management Committee of the East Riding County Football League have been considering all of the options available for concluding the season.

The viability of each option largely depends on the directives from both the UK Government and The FA with respect to the recommencement timescale for grassroots football.

The League will be attending a meeting organised by the East Riding County FA, during which the Leagues in the County from across grassroots football will share their thoughts and plans.  It is anticipated that a meeting will take place in February following updates from the Government and/or The FA.

Once the League has more information to be able to narrow down the available options, a further statement will be issued and clubs will be consulted.
