No Limits a new employment programme has been launched to help young people find employment and training opportunities.

It will be made available to young people in the region virtually online. While there will also be Youth Hubs set up in central locations. The hubs will be set up in Beverley, Bridlington, Goole, Hessle and also Withernsea.

It is available to young people in the region either virtually and also through Youth Hubs. These are located in Beverley Bridlington, Goole, Hessle and Withernsea.

Dedicated advisers will be on hand to support participants. They will identify realistic employment goals and opportunities through the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Carl Southcoat, project manager for the programme at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said;

“We can offer a one-stop service for young people trying to find employment in the East Riding.”

“We are working closely with other organisations and projects. This is to make sure that our clients can get the support that they need, to help them to achieve their career goals and ambitions.”

Advisors will work closely with those participating to help improve their chances of succeeding. They will tailor their needs and goals to create unique training paths.

Employment Programme Will Look To Create Opportunities With Local Business

Advisers will also take on a ‘key worker’ role. They will aim to establish and coordinate a broad range of partnership working opportunities with local businesses and employers. This is so they can generate the right opportunities for participants.

They will also support young people by helping them access services and try to help them overcome any specific individualised barriers.

Councillor Victoria Aitken has welcomed the programme. She also acknowledges that given the pandemic it is impacting the employment market. She said;

“The unique thing about it is that we can offer tailored support for all users, including multi-agency and triage support for those that are furthest away from the employment market.”

“The main aim of No Limits is to help young people to identify an achievable path to the employment they want, and also to equip them with the skills they need to get there.”
