Patrick Nolan – Public Notice Of Funeral And Celebration Of His Life

Patrick Nolan sadly passed away on 21 September 2019 at Hull Royal Infirmary aged 90 following a short illness.

He was a devoted brother to Moira. Loving father to Kay, Joy and Scott, grandfather to Anthony, Adam, Sean, Lewis, Laura and Suzi, great-grandfather to Dylan, Jasmine and Reuben.

Known by many as ‘Pat The Hat’ he will be sadly missed by his family and friends. An intelligent man who enjoyed Rugby, Pat was also a true master when it came to a good wind up.

He was also at the forefront when it came to debating issues and was never short of an opinion. Happy to create an argument and walk away leaving others to chew over the fat.

His nickname is more fitting to a 1930s mobster, but for Pat, the pen was always mightier than the sword. His letters published in local newspapers, and later comments online earned him plenty of recognition.

A service will be held at St. Johns Catholic Church Beverley at 4pm on Friday 4th October.

Afterwards, those who knew Pat are welcome to share memories at the Conservative Club Wylies Road.

If you would like to, please wear a hat in his honour.

No flowers please.

  1. So sorry to hear the news about Paddy. He was very close friends with my father at school in Blackpool and stayed in touch with my mother after my father died in the mid 1990’s. I have very fond memories of him visiting us during my childhood and his eulogy at my fathers funeral. He will be missed by the Wiseman family. Condolences to his family.
