Hull’s popular Big Bus Day returns for 2019, with lots to see and do at the Streetlife Museum of Transport.
Jointly organised by local bus company East Yorkshire and Hull Museums, Big Bus Day attracts people of all ages and has become one of the Museum Quarter’s biggest events.
The family-friendly event takes place on Saturday 7 September, 10am – 4pm, at the Streetlife Museum of Transport on Hull’s High Street, and is free admission.
Attractions include free open-top and vintage bus trips around the city, a display of vintage and modern buses, a children’s trail and bus-related games and activities, brass band music, stalls selling bus models, photos and memorabilia, face painting, the winning entries of the East Yorkshire Bus Photography Competition, and much more.
Ideal for both families and bus fans alike, all are welcome, and there’s also the opportunity to look around the fascinating displays of the Streetlife Museum.
East Yorkshire’s Area Director, Ben Gilligan, said: “We’re looking forward to another busy Big Bus Day, our annual celebration of the bus. We love to see families enjoying the event, as it makes it all worthwhile to see them having a great time and learning about buses. The weather forecast is looking good, so let’s hope for bumper crowds!”.
Admission and most activities are free, although donations will be collected in support of the NSPCC and other charities.
