Plans for the new development in Queen’s Gardens are revealed as the building starts to take shape. Named The Glass House by Iguana Developments, the former station will be the crowning glory of the city centre, with the intention to be the most prestigious development Hull has ever seen.

The Glass House is ninety-four apartments with twenty-one duplex penthouses being added on to the roof of the original building, complete with one hundred and five car parking spaces. The overall finish will provide a retreat for those who want to enjoy the ease of city living.

Iguana Developments’ Managing Director, Jason Coleman says:

“We are pleased to launch The Glass House which I believe it is a major landmark in the city centre’s regeneration and with registered interest already from local who want to live in the city centre, we are confident to say so.”

“Once again we are offering apartments to market for sale and focusing on owner-occupiers to continue building a solid community where neighbours know one another and share access to smart amenities built into our developments. This includes the residents’ gym and cinema we are known for, but we also have some additional features designed especially for this prestigious development. Watch this space as the story of The Glass House unfolds.”

Iguana Developments sprang onto the local property development scene in 2015, investing almost £40m of private funds to refurbish Essex House on Manor Street, Liberty House on Liberty Lane and now The Glass House in Queen’s Gardens.

Jason adds:

“The key for us is to stand out from other developers on quality and to include high-tech features as standard. Our aim is to give buyers more than a place to live, we provide a lifestyle. The results speak for themselves – success with HU1 Living at Essex House and Liberty House. Now The Glass House is a real showpiece, with panoramic views of Queen’s Gardens all within a few minutes walk from the city centre amenities.”

The main elevation on Dock Avenue is fully glazed and features an impressive two-storey atrium entrance, most apartments have their own balcony and the penthouses have roof terraces. Queen’s Dock Avenue is to be fully pedestrianised linking The Glass House directly to Queen’s Gardens which itself is receiving a £2.5m facelift starting in spring 2020.

Jason continues:

“We complement the new commercial activity in the Old Town by providing homes for people who want to walk to work and enjoy the local leisure and entertainment after work.”

“It’s great to hear feedback from home hunters who hadn’t considered moving into the city centre until now. These people will call it their home, having a positive effect on the local economy.”

The Iguana team is also launching the Iguana Lifestyle card which will become available in the next month. Local businesses have signed up to offer their community of owner-occupiers and tenants special offers on goods and services.
