Turns Pink Raises Over £200 For Cancer Research UK

Tesco Turns Pink proved to be a great success as the Beverley store raising over £200 for Cancer Research.

Held at the Morton Lane store staff at Tesco Beverley got into the spirit of things dressing up in pink clothing.

Community Champion at Tesco in Beverley David Ryley said;

“Our Tesco Turns Pink day was a great success. As well as raising awareness of this year’s Race for Life events at Costello Stadium in July, we also collected £202 for Cancer Research UK.”

“We would like to say a big thank you to all of our customers for their support.”

Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, in partnership with Tesco, is an inspiring series of running events which raise millions of pounds every year.

Tesco Turns Pink Helps Raise Cash And Promote Race For Life

Money raised from the Race For Life goes towards the battle to help beat cancer sooner by funding crucial research.

The supermarket giant has been long-standing supporters of the event. Thousands of people across the country take part in a range of events.

These events are not only open to the public they are also open to schools. Runners and participants are encouraged many of whom who do so in memory of a loved one.

Races that are on offer include 10K, 5K  and Pretty Muddy. Pretty Muddy is not like a regular run, it is an obstacle course that includes giant mud pits.

This year will also see the return of Pretty Muddy for Kids which will be hosted in Hull on July 6.

Tesco says that The Hull Pretty Muddy Kids 5km being held around Costello park will be packed full of obstacles.

While the route is 5K there will be a shortcut available at approximately 2km or 3km, which will lead back to the finish line.

Obstacle layout and shortcut distances will vary from venue to venue. Adults accompanying children will run alongside the course but will not be allowed to take part in the obstacles.
