UDO World Championships Fund Raising Golf Event To Be Staged

Dads are stepping up to the mark as they look to raise funds for Base Dance Company in a bid to send their daughters to the UDO World Championships.

Base Dance Company are looking to send the girls to the UDO World Championships in Blackpool which takes place in August.

Speaking to HU17.net one of the father’s, Anthony Hutt said;

“Most of the previous fundraising has been organised by the team’s mums. A few of the dad’s felt we should try and help out.

“So we decided to organise a Golf event to raise funds. The money we raise will be used to go towards transport and accommodation costs for the girls.”

“As a few of us own a set of golf clubs, a golf am-am seemed a decent place to start to see if we could get enough support to raise a decent amount of funds.”

UDO World Championships Next Key Event For Committed Local Dance Group

Founded in 2008 Base Dance Company was currently runs 12 classes a week for children aged 3 to 16+ at Base Fitness in Beverley.

Classes include contemporary, commercial and also street classes for boys and girls. In all, around 150 students attend regular classes.

They have also enjoyed significant success at UDO regional, national and worldwide events with the most recent being crowned U16 Intermediate UDO British Team Champions.

Anthony added;

“These girls are dedicated, hardworking and certainly committed to the team. We want to support them as much as possible.”

“The competitions are also not cheap to attend. There has been a significant amount of fundraising undertaken previously to cover the costs for team members.”

“Parents attending always cover their own costs. We are obviously proud of the team’s achievements and want them to continue this journey and wonderful life experience.”

The BDC Queens AM-AM golf tournament takes place on Friday 14 June at Beverley Golf Club. Anyone wishing to find out more or wanting to enter should call  07572 543920.
