**Little Rock Stars – New Venture Uses Music To Enhance Child Development**

Little Rock Stars is a new music group that has been started in Beverley by a former teaching assistant, Laura Douse, that uses music to enhance a child’s development.

Through using music, Laura says Little Rock Stars offers both parents and their children a chance to learn and most importantly have fun.

Speaking about Little Rock Stars Laura said;

“After qualifying as a teaching assistant and gaining a wealth of experience of working with children, I decided to go my own way and create Little Rock Stars.”

“Little Rock Stars is a baby and toddler music group for children aged 0-4 years. I lead the sessions with my guitar and sing songs that children know and love.”

“For the sessions I bring along a range of instruments and other sensory items. This is the children can participate by exploring the different sounds and colours, as well as have fun and move around.”

“Little Rock Stars is a creative and stimulating experience that I hope will inspire both child and parent to have fun and learn through music. It is also a great place for parents to make lifelong friends with other parents.”

“Exposing children to music during early stages of development helps them to learn the sounds and meaning of words, and dancing to music helps to build motor skills.”

“I fell that music is a great way for children to not only have fun, but to learn basic rhythm skills, and in turn help with language and communication development. It also helps children grow confidence and practice self-expression.”

Little Rock Stars takes place on Monday morning at St Nicks Parish Hall. Sessions start at 9AM, 10AM and 11AM. Friday morning sessions are held at Toll Gavel Church at 9.30AM.
