Could This Retailer Be Coming To Beverley In Time For Christmas?

A high end retailer could be on their way to Beverley taking on a prime retail unit that has sat empty for a number of years after being vacated by Wilko.

While the retailer in question has not confirmed they are indeed about to open in the historic market town, information received by HU17.net would appear they are.

Over the past couple of weeks speculation in the town seems to indicate that The White Company will be start work on both the units in November.

On contacting The White Company they declined to confirm or dismiss they are heading to Beverley however did confirm they ‘have looked at a site in the town’  but ‘it was one of many’ they are considering.

Our source however suggests that things are a little further down the line with activity spotted at the unit on Toll Gavel believed to be ‘consultants’ working for  The White Company.

If true, news that The White Company has opted for the town centre will be a great result for the high street in Beverley, that has recently seen other top brands like Jack Wills arrive.

Founded in 1994, The White Company, have just over fifty shops in the UK with stores in Ireland and the USA. They have a strong online presence and employ over 1,400 people.

As retailer, they have built their reputation on selling impeccably stylish, beautifully designed products, principally in white, for over 24 years.

The empty unit has caused much upset locally and been a blot on the high street. The secrecy surrounding the new tenants has fuelled speculation as to its future, including a possible return for Wilko.

Last year Wilko ruled out their intentions of returning to their former shop amid speculation their sale figures were struggling since making the move just out of town to the Flemingate Retail Park.
