AEDdonate are the latest group to win £2,000 in the Tesco March/April Bags of Help customer vote. Shoppers at the store voted for the project called ‘Defibrillators for Beverley’ .

The defibrillator is to be sited at the Game Bird Public House on , Beverley and Tesco recently visited the pub to make the cheque presentation.

Jamie Richards, Chief Executive of AEDdonate, said;

“Its great to see another AED being placed into the community with funding through the Tesco Bags of Help Scheme. The Scheme allows us to actively provide funding to the community to place lifesaving machines that will benefit the public. Thank you to everyone who voted for us in store.’’

AEDdonate is committed to improving survival from out of hospital cardiac arrest, supporting the placement and use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to local communities.

They achieve this by giving schools, pubs, clubs and communities the opportunity to fundraise for an AED which can then be placed onto the public access defibrillation (PAD) scheme.

Tesco’s Bags of Help project has already delivered over £48 million to over 10,000 local community projects up and down the UK.

The scheme is permanently open for applications from schools, sports clubs and community groups and raises money through the levy collected for using plastic bags while shopping.
