A local chef says he has swapped the town centre for a village pub as he looks to re establish The Star Inn’s reputation as place for high quality dining.

Sean Hanley, formerly of the Mill House Skidby and Central 42 in Beverley says that since taking on The Star Inn in North Dalton response from diners has been very positive.

Speaking to HU17.net Sean said;

“A couple of years back I was here and things were going really well. When I was asked if I was up for the challenge to help take it to the next level I said yes.”

A New Star Is Born In A Small Sleepy Village Just Outside Of Beverley“The Star Inn has historically had a good reputation and the management are keen to get back to the standards diners were used too.”

“The kitchen had been closed for three months. Before re-opening it we worked on the place to create the right environment for people to enjoy a nice meal.”

“There is real cosy country feel about the restaurant now. With open log fires and dedicated dining area we are confident we  have the balance right.”

With the venue taking shape, the menu has also seen a lot of work with Shaun opting for quality produce. With a good rump steak meal starting from around £18, the pricing is also highly competitive.

Commenting on the food he said;

“Our menu has a good choice of locally sourced steaks which we get from Givendale Farm in , East Yorkshire. We also have some fish on the menu which is fresh and sourced locally.”

“All the deserts we sell are home made. There are things like Lemon Tarts, Brownies, Sticky Toffee Pudding and seasonal crumbles.”

“I think it is fair to say that The Star Inn is the type of Gastro pub people expect to find in the East Yorkshire country side.”

“My ultimate goal is to take the restaurant to the next level in terms of the quality of the food and level of service customers experience when eating here.”

“Customers have already been posting very positive reviews about their experiences which is a testament to all hard work everyone is putting in to make this place a success.”

Opening hours for the restaurant  are Wednesday to Saturday 6-9.30PM and Sunday 12-6PM. The bar, which is dog friendly  is opening Monday to Friday 4-late  Saturday and Sunday 12- late, with plenty of parking available.
