Beverley U15s Produce Dominant Performance Against Grimsby

Under 15s produced a dominant and destructive performance away at Grimsby and secured a 57 – 0 victory.

Having made some enforced significant changes in key positions, due to injuries, illness and availability, the players responded exceptionally well and cruised to a convincing win.

The Beverley team dominated the early stages of the game and within the first few minutes scored the first try of the day through Harrison Petrie, Grimsby did though come back and mounted a sustained attack on the Beverley line and exerted pressure for around 10 minutes.

Grimsby’s defence was resolute and strong throughout, eventually though Beverley broke through when a loose ball was cleared by Aaron Waring who raced forward to eventually pass the ball to Nathan Cullen who scored his first try of the day.

The pattern of the game changed, Beverley totally dominated all aspects of the game and freely scored thereafter, Jasper Ghio scored a hatrick of tries, further tries came from Petrie and Cullen to secure braces each, and Cameron Lawley and manage a try each.

Alex Nuttall, who has impressed over the past few games now settling into a forwards position converted 6 from 9 attempts.

The significant work and the pattern of play that the team have been developing over the past couple of months is starting to reap the rewards the team deserve and they are controlling games, forwards are dominating set piece plays with Josh Dillon, Oliver Lazenby, Alex Crockett and Toby Ashworth working tirelessly, good support also came from the ever improving Oliver Waites.

In the backs Adam Skeates playing at 10 for the first time distributed and controlled the game while Japser Law distributed well at scrum half all match, Ben Ashley again proved his versatility playing at centre, whilst Harry Gunn didn’t put a foot wrong with a solid performance at full back.

Man of the match for a hatrick of tries went to Jasper Ghio.

Beverley now look forward to a midweek match at on Wednesday night under the floodlights and Lincoln at home next Sunday.
