The Yorkshire Party are inviting local people to attend a meeting where they plan to outline the benefits an independant Yorkshire would gain.

Taking place in , The East Yorkshire Group of the Yorkshire Party hope residents of the county will come along to join their discussion.

In a statement released, the group said;

“Any who would you like to find out more and learn how the Yorkshire Party, a progressive political party, members of which are united by a shared belief that Yorkshire needs a voice at regional and national level, are campaigning for more decisions to be made locally rather than by Westminster.”

“The East Yorkshire Group of the Yorkshire Party, which covers an area encompassing Beverley, , Driffield, Market Weighton, and Stamford Bridge, is holding its first meeting in Market Weighton.”

“The Leader of the Yorkshire Party, Stewart Arnold, will talk about the current moves for devolved powers in Yorkshire.”

“As a party we are interested to hear people’s views. So are urging them to come along, ask questions and join in the discussion – put forward your own ideas – and learn how the Party is campaigning on this issue.”

Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting, which will be held at the Wesley Centre, behind St. John’s Methodist Church, Market Place, Market Weighton, YO43 3AJ, on Wednesday, 29 November, from 7.15 to 8.45PM.

“Tea and coffee will be available. There is limited car parking to the rear of the Church.”
