Lane closures will affect the Humber Bridge this coming week as preparations begin for some major engineering works on the A15 road.

As part of the advance works, the Open Road Toll lane and both lanes either side of the central reservation will be closed at the Hessle end of the bridge for two periods.

These will be on Tuesday 14 November from 9.30am to 3.30pm and then overnight from Wednesday 15th November, starting at around 7pm to Thursday at 6am. The works are being carried out under lane closures to ensure the safety of the public and workforce is maintained at all times.

Motorists with HumberTAG accounts will need to use the toll booths instead during this period and are urged to allow extra time for their journeys.

, Head of Infrastructure, says:

“This is necessary work to prepare for a major maintenance programme to be carried out. We apologise for the inconvenience and would ask motorists to allow more time to cross the bridge as there could be queueing at the toll booths.”

The engineering project, to replace the joints on the bridge, is scheduled to start later this month and continue until April 2018, with work being carried out overnight and at weekends to minimise disruption.
