Graham Stuart is on the hunt to find the Parliamentary Pub Chef of the Year in Beverley and Holderness as nominations open for the prestigious national award.

As local MP, Graham has given strong support to the pub industry and has helped to raise the profile of events such as British Pub Week across Beverley and Holderness.

Graham said:

“I encourage local pub-goers to nominate one of our outstanding pub chefs across Beverley and Holderness for this prestigious award.”

“I am aware of the talent and potential that is out there in this important local industry, and this is a great opportunity for residents to give their own favourites the recognition they deserve.”

The Pub Chef of the Year contest is in its second year with two prizes up for grabs: Pub Chef and Young Pub Chef. Chef Milan Hukal from Suffolk, and Young Chef Robert Yuill from Dundee, won the inaugural competition last year after 120 nominations were received by MPs.

Nominations by MPs run until 27th October. Chefs are then asked to complete an entry form, which is judged by experts including the acclaimed TV guest chef presenter and former holder, Paul Merrett. Second round judging takes place in December with the final cook off in January before the awards are presented at the House of Commons in February 2018.

If you have a local chef who you would like to put forward, please let Graham know via email at graham.stuart.mp@parliament.uk by Wednesday 25th October 2017.

Please note, residents should only nominate one chef for each category.
