Organisers of the sell-out have announced that the event will return for the second year running.

On October 13 and 14, Wold Newton based Wold Top Brewery will welcome hundreds of visitors to the real ale, cider and music event that is organised by Muddy Souls Events at Hunmanby Grange.

The 18 beers and 3 ciders have been specially selected by members of the 18 strong brewery team and include drinks from all over the UK.

On the stage, East Yorkshire’s Nick Rooke Band will headline on the Friday evening and York-based Tex-Mex and country rock band Acko Pulco and the Cliff Divers will entertain festival goers on Saturday evening.

Muddy Souls Events manager said after the sell-out success of the brewery’s first ever beer festival last year, they were keen to repeat the event.

had a great time last year and we had lots of really positive feedback with visitors telling us how much they enjoyed themselves.

“Not only was it a celebration of real ale, but people enjoyed the whole experience – the live music, the food, the setting and the camping, for those brave enough!

“The Nick Rooke Band is a local favourite and will play some wonderful original material while we expect Acko Pulco and the Cliff Divers to get everyone on their feet on Saturday night with some lively tunes.”

Refreshments will be provided by business The Yorkshire Wagyu Company who will be serving gourmet Wagyu burgers and the Yorkshire Pudding Pie Company.

Wold Top Brewery’s brewery manager, Alex Balchin, is looking forward to hosting the festival again: “As brewers, it’s great to get feedback from the public about the beer that we brew and the festival is a great, relaxed way to engage with the people who support us.

“This year, because the beers have been selected by individuals in the team, members of the public will also be able to talk to them about why they selected the beers they did, so it could be quite entertaining!

The festival runs from 6pm until 11pm on Friday, October 13 and from 12pm until 11pm on Saturday, October 14.

Day tickets cost £5 for Friday and £7 for Saturday, weekend tickets cost £10, and camping pitches for Friday and Saturday are available for £10 per night.

All festival tickets include a commemorative festival pint glass and are available from the brewery and online at http://www.woldtopbrewery.co.uk/products/44/big-sky-beer-festival-2017 and camping tickets are available by calling the brewery on 01723 892222.

The festival takes its name from the phrase used by celebrated artist David Hockney when he compared the sky over the Yorkshire Wolds to ‘the big sky’ he experienced in the American West and reflects the unparalleled views from the brewery’s top of the Wolds location.
