Longcroft Students Take Control Of Hawk At BAE Systems Brough

Students from have been given a tour of the BEA Systems at Brough after they enjoyed success in an engineering competition.

The Brough Seaplane completion was created to mark the centenary of the BAE Brough site and also inspire young people in schools to embrace engineering.

Students were tasked with designing a cockpit with organisers saying they had some ‘brilliant entries’ resulting in them inviting winners and runners up to their East Yorkshire facility.

A video released by BAE Systems shows the day enjoyed by the budding engineers as they take a tour of the production line and get to fly the simulator.

from Longcroft School talks about their project, detailing the methods they used to manufacture their dashboard.

Jacqui McKenzie, Early Careers says that young people are the company’s future and they want to create a ‘pipe line’ of young engineers into the business.

She adds that given the opportunities for young people at BAE, like this are helping them open their to what is out there.
