National Fitness Day At East Riding Leisure

National Fitness Day on Wednesday 27 September will see a huge range of free events and taster sessions across the country, and the East Riding is no exception.

Throughout the UK, more than 20,000 free events will take place in gyms, leisure centres, parks, high streets, schools and workplaces, as over one million people embrace being active for the day.

Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Chair of National Fitness Day organiser UK Active, said:

“National Fitness Day is a powerful tool to raise the profile of physical activity and the role it plays in increasing the health of our nation.”

Councillor , portfolio holder for leisure, tourism, and culture, added;

“I am delighted that East Riding Leisure is once again getting hugely involved in National Fitness Day, and I hope that lots of people will be able to take advantage of the free sessions on offer on the day, and reap the enormous benefits they offer.”

At East Riding Leisure, customers will be able to take part in free gym sessions, swims and classes. Booking is advisable in advance for all sessions.

Each of the ten East Riding Leisure Centres will have Golden Tickets available on the day for free gym, swim or class sessions, which can be used at a later date or given to a friend for their use. These Golden Tickets will also be available at the council’s Customer Service Centres.

In addition, at each East Riding Leisure Centre, there will be a giant golden ticket to be found, to unlock access to a free month of Premier Membership.
