Family Fun Day To Be Held As The Park, Officially Opens

Residents in a village just outside of are preparing to officially open a new park and are inviting everyone to attend.

The Park, Kilnwick has been created as children in the area had to travel six miles to their nearest park to play.

250 residents of Kilnwick, including 65 children and 2500 residents of the neighbouring villages are all set to benefit enormously from the new park.

Secretary to The Park, Kilnwick, Ellen Beddows said;

“The Park, Kilnwick is a charitable project to transform a piece of agricultural land into a recreational asset for all ages within the community enhancing health and well-being.”

“The Park will also be a haven for wildlife, a place for celebratory activities to unite generations and a valuable educational resource.”

“We are providing structured youth activities to encourage local young people to develop confidence, skills and abilities.”

Educational and recreational facilities have been created at The Park with the charity saying they hope they will appeal everyone.

Local primary schools have backed the project saying they will make regular visits with their pupils to benefit a wide cross section of their curriculum.

Officially The Park, Kilnwick will open on the 2 September with a special family day packed with activities and things to do.

Activates for the day include, Bird Box Making, Birds of Prey, and live music from the Buckrose Concert Band plus much more.

Starting at 11AM the free family day runs through till 4PM and is suitable for all people of all ages.

On Sunday 3 September The Park will be hosting its first music event that will feature singers including Katie Spencer, Dodge McKay and Edwina Hayes.

Tickets for the music festival are priced at £5 with the event running from 2PM through to 10PM.
