who organised the event along with the St Leonard’s Church Committee and Hull And East Riding Motor Neurone Disease was delighted with how the event.

Commenting on the day he said;

“The event was a half and half fund raising event for both the church and the charity. Money on the day was raised through entry fees, a prize draw and selling food and drink.”

“We made the most money on the sale of cakes. These were all made by the church committee who have really thrown themselves into the event.”

“Over all we are delighted, the day and the event as a whole has gone really well, we very pleased.”

Inside the church there were a number of items for people to view. These included some wedding dresses along with the brides who were married in them many years ago.

Mr. Hancock added;

“The most important thing is to try raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease, it is fatal illness.”

Motor Neurone Disease leads to muscle weakness, often with visible wasting. There is no age barrier though it is more common in people aged 50-70 years of age.

Motor neurone disease, also known as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), occurs when specialist nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord called motor neurones stop working properly.

Hull And East Riding Motor Neurone Disease are a local group who provide the best possible support to people in the area who have the illness.

Within our local area there are 30 people who have the illness. Mr Hancock as an Association Visitor visits each of them to provide ongoing to support to those who are ill and their families.

Thanks to their efforts at the church the event raised just under £900 which will be divided between both the church and the charity.
