Bridlington’s regeneration projects and the support available to local businesses will be among the topics highlighted at two meetings next week.

The Bridington Renaissance Partnership will review its activities from the past year and its priorities for the year ahead when it holds its annual general meeting – which is open to the public – at 6pm on Thursday 29 June at Bridlington Spa.

A presentation will also be given on the regeneration of Bridlington and the major projects which are being delivered by East Riding of Yorkshire Council to make the town an even better place to live, work and visit.

Councillor , the council’s porfolio holder for economic investment and planning delivery, said:

“East Riding of Yorkshire Council is pleased to support the work of renaissance partnerships which provide a genuine opportunity for local people to be actively involved in many aspects of improving the economic wellbeing of their local area.

“The input of local partners is invaluable and enables the council to support innovative approaches to local economic growth.

“We really appreciate the fact local people are prepared to give their own time and effort in the interests of improving their community.”

As the AGM is an open meeting, there is no need to pre-book to attend. More information about the Bridlington Renaissance Partnership is available at www.bridlingtonrenaissance.com or telephone (01482) 391708.

The Bridlington Business Forum is holding its next open meeting at 5.15pm on Tuesday 27 June at the Bridlington Spa.

The forum, now in its fifth year, continues to go from strength to strength and will also offer local business people attending the chance to find out more about some of the regeneration developments taking place in Bridlington.

Cllr Burton said:

“The forum is a way that local businesses can work together, and also with the council, for the benefit of the town as a whole. I would urge all businesses to come along and get involved to take Bridlington forward as a great destination.”

Topics which will be covered at the meeting on Tuesday will include:

• An overview of the highway improvement works in the town centre and Hilderthorpe Road areas
• A town centre retail crime update by
• The business support services available through East Riding of Yorkshire Council

Doors open at 5.15pm for tea and coffee, with the opportunity for informal networking before the meeting starts at 6pm.
