Village Life In Leconfield : A Great Place To Bring Up Your Family

Although Leconfield is a village that many drive straight through, the local residents feel spoilt to have wonderful surroundings on their doorstep, community spirit and things-to-do in abundance.

Fiona Ives has lived in Leconfield since 2003 in a wonderful five-bedroom home that was newly built at the time.

The short walk to the house from the main road takes you past the Norman Church, the Manor House and out into the glorious fields that are ideal for dog-walking, running and enjoying the British seasons in all weather.

Leconfield is just over 3 miles out of , but this also means that potential home-owners can expect to pay less for larger properties than in Beverley.

Fiona and her partner are now downsizing having lived there with four children who have all grown-up and flown the nest. Now the property on Manor Farm Court is ready for another family to enjoy.

Fiona explained:

“There is so much to do in Leconfield, we love living here. I am quite involved with the community in various ways: a choir meets every Tuesday at the Recreation Club which is very well supported by people in the village, it’s our local pub really, but a pint is considerably cheaper!”

“For just £6 per year you can be a member and it entitles free entry to the New Year’s Eve party which is always very popular. There is a bowls club, you can play snooker/pool/darts, there are keep fit classes for all ages and abilities and there is also a very young and active WI group that gets involved in raising money for good causes as well as various interesting workshops.”

“The age range in the village is from young couples and families to retired and elderly people. We love the fact that we have met so many who have lived at the MOD camp over the years. My family is still in touch with people they met at primary school who have since moved all over the world.

“Leconfield Primary School is rated ‘Good’. I myself taught there a number of years ago and my children were pupils – we would all recommend it, even to families currently living in Beverley who might be struggling to get into over-subscribed schools.”

The village has two hairdressers, a beauty therapist, an upholsterer, and a fish and chip van visits once a week. There is always something to do and people to meet up with and Cherry Burton Golf Club and Bygot Wood clay pigeon shooting range are also just up the road.

There is an open house event on Manor Farm Court this Saturday, if you would like to experience life in Leconfield, I would be delighted to welcome you.
