Launch Lifestyle 2017 Scheme

Young people in the region will be able to register for the ever popular Lifestyle scheme which is run by Humberside Police.

From Monday 10 April young people will can register their interest to participate in Lifestyle 2017 which runs through the school summer holidays.  

In statement released they said;

“Since 1989, tens of thousands of young people have registered and taken on challenges that have made a huge difference to communities across Humberside.”

“Lifestyle aims to increase the amount of positive contact between Humberside Police and young people, offering a refreshing and challenging alternative to summer boredom, which will benefit the youngsters and their communities.”

“We are now encouraging 10-18 year olds to register in groups and undertake projects that benefit their community for this year’s scheme.”

“There are a host of fantastic prizes on offer for the most innovative and successful projects undertaken. These include a week in South Africa, a trip to Disneyland Paris, UK adventure holidays, days out at Flamingo Land and Tockwith Racecourse and many more.”

Temporary Chief Constable Garry Forsyth said:

“Lifestyle is a really important project and one that I am incredibly proud of. The projects delivered by young people for their communities are very impressive and show what hard work and innovation can achieve. My hope is that this year’s Lifestyle will prove equally popular.”

“The message is simple – if you’re a young person living in the Humberside area, sign up for Lifestyle 2017 and spend your summer with your friends making a difference in your community.”

Rachel Palmer, BP Chemicals communications manager, said:

“As we celebrate our 50th anniversary in Hull, it is with great pride that BP returns as the principal sponsor of Lifestyle 2017. As a supporter of the project for over 25 years, we believe that the life skills and confidence Lifestyle teaches young people not only benefits their local communities, but will help them achieve their personal and professional goals in the future.”

PCSOs who will be visiting schools and colleges to promote Lifestyle 2017.
