A free workshop training session will be held on Friday, 31 March for people wanting to learn about oral history.

This is one of the activities offered through the Bridlington Quay Townscape Heritage project, which is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.

The session will take place at King Street Library, from 10am-4.30pm.

Training is open to anyone who would be interested in helping to record the recent history of Bridlington Quay. It is hoped that the participants will use their new-found expertise to help create an archive of stories and memories about Bridlington’s seaside history.

Previous experience or knowledge is not required; all that is needed is to be a good listener. The session will provide all the training needed to get started, including an introduction to interviewing and gaining experience in audio recording.

The session is suitable for anyone with an interest in undertaking some oral history recording or brushing up their interview skills.

Places are free, but are limited and priority will be given to those in Bridlington.

To book a place, email Tania Weston, townscape heritage officer, at tania.weston@eastriding.gov.uk or call (01482) 391712.
