Yorkshire Party Set To Develop A Vision For Yorkshire

The Yorkshire Party say they are in the process of creating a vision of how Yorkshire would should any plans for devolution be successful.

Their vision will outline the possible changes to localised government, introductions of a Mayor and also the economic impact on the region.

, leader of the Yorkshire Party commented:

“The Yorkshire Party has started the process to create a ‘vision for Yorkshire’.

“The Yorkshire Party’s campaign for devolution to the whole of Yorkshire rather than to City Regions has gained real momentum over the last week or so. The challenge now is to create a vision of what that devolution could and should look like.

“Our preferred option remains a parliament for Yorkshire. There are others calling for a mayor. This is all well and good, but how might any of these options improve people’s lives, the economy, the environment and so on?

“So the Yorkshire Party plans to draw together a vision for our County that is innovative, modern and inclusive which delivers sustainable economic growth and social justice.”

Mr. Arnold concluded by saying;

“Our intention is for everyone to have their say on how this future of Yorkshire might look once we a real say on our own priorities.”

Yorkshire is way behind in perusing the idea of devolution when compared to their neighbours in Manchester who will choose their first Mayor in May.
