Beverley RUFC Under 14s secured a place in the Yorkshire Plate Final with a convincing win over Richmondshire RUFC at .

Beverley had a clear game plan, and shutting down the away teams back line ensured that they were able to dominate play, again the Beverley pack were strong in set piece plays and the loose, the forwards supported each other well meaning good clean ball for the Beverley backs.

The first try game from some enterprising work, Harrison Petrie again making ground and a good feed from scrum half Adam Skeates allowed Tom Barnard to slip a pass to Ben Walker to force his way over for his first try.

The next try soon followed, Beverley hooker Alex Crockett took his first of many balls against the head and Walker then managed to drive over for his second try, converted by Barnard.

The remainder of the half was well contested, Richmondshire tried hard but the home defence was resolute, Oliver Lazenby, Josh Dillon and Jasper Ghio were towers of strength in the tackle and ruck and back row for Ben Wilkinson and covered the pitch well and prevented the dangerous visiting side from making ground.

In the back line Eden Quantock controlled the game well, long deep kicks ensured the home time dominated territory and centres Sam Acaster and Nathan Cullen closed up in defence but dangerous in attack and fed good ball to the wingers of Oliver Jenner and Ben Ashley.

Eventually the visiting side did manage a try through their extremely pacy winger which the duly converted.

Beverley lost Walker and Ashley to injury at half time and replaced with Harry Gunn and Alex Nuttall.

The start of the second half was a nervy affair until Ghio forced his way over the line, the visitors again re-grouped and again their winger outpaced the Beverley defence to score.

Beverley then increased the pressure and the forwards started to really dominate, good phases and ball led to Cullen racing over for his first try of the afternoon, converted by Quantock, before Petrie scored.

From the kick off and a rare moment of loss of concentration the Richmondshire winger again broke through and scored.

Beverley sealed the victory though when Cullen again outpaced the visitors defence and powered over, followed by an excellent conversion from the touch line by Barnard.

Beverley now progress to their first Yorkshire final in the new year, the first half of the season has been excellent and the team continues to improve week on week.

Parents player of the week went to the whole team for an excellent team performance, whilst the coaches went to both Petrie and Quantock.
