Bonfire on the Westwood : Road Closures & Parking Information

This year’s Bonfire on the Westwood will go ahead as normal on Saturday the 5th November 2016.

Walkington Road will be closed to traffic. 08:00 (8am)- 22:00 (10pm)

Walkington Road will be closed from the junction of Keldgate Road, by the Golf Club to the junction with Albert Terrace, with accesses to Residents only from Albert Terrace up-to 17:00hrs when full closure will be in forced.

Entry from Keldgate Road by the Golf Club will be for Trades bringing material for the Bonfire and Trade Stall holders only from 08:00 to 16:00hrs when full closure will be enforced.

Linked traffic cones will be put in place on both side of the carriageway on Keldgate Road from the junction of Cartwright Lane to the Whitening Works.

East Riding of Yorkshire Council will put in place the road closure and this will be manned by a road Traffic Management Company with trained operatives to ensure the safety of the public.

Members of the public are asked to use the town center car parks and travel the short distance from there to the bonfire site on foot.

Please use the town carparks on Grayburn Lane, School Lane behind the Fire Station, Lord Roberts Road behind the Theatre or the town centre.
