Graham Stuart Praises Adult Learning In Beverley

Graham Stuart MP visited the Adult Learning Centre in Beverley to meet management, tutors and learners and to celebrate the Centre’s success in helping local people to transform their skills. Members of the press are welcome to attend.

As part of his visit Graham attended a Counselling Level 2 course to meet learners and tutor, Alan Leach, followed by meeting tutor Karen Leach and learners from the “Getting Started with Vintage Craft” course.

Speaking ahead of his visit, Graham said;

“The Council’s adult learning service offers over 1,000 courses a year, in venues all around the East Riding, and I’m looking forward to hearing more about the work they do and speaking to learners.”

“People can study a range of topics ranging from improving their English and Maths to ICT to healthy living and mental health awareness. There really is something for everyone and the tutors and staff at the Centre in Beverley deserve great credit for the hard work they put in.”

“Whether it’s about boosting your employability, learning a new skill or simply picking up a new hobby, this is a really valuable service and I’d encourage everyone to take a look at the options available via the Council’s website.”

Councillor Jane Evison, East Riding of Yorkshire Cabinet Member for Economic Investment and , said;

“Adult Learning courses are the perfect way to learn new skills or explore a new hobby, they can help you move on in employment or find a job.”

“The new adult learning centre in Beverley has something for everybody and I would encourage residents to take a look at the course guides for the autumn term or come along to see the centre now it’s open and see what is available.”
