Free Information Event In Beverley On World Mental Health Day

New local charity ‘Second Thoughts East Yorkshire’ (STEY) has organised an information drop in event for the public at Armstrongs Social Club, Grovehill Rd, Beverley  on World Mental Health Day, Monday 10th October 2016 between 10.00 am and 6.00 pm.

The charity has invited friends from other support agencies Hull & East Yorkshire Mind, , Recycling Unlimited, Alzheimer’s Society, Aim Higher, The Emotional Wellbeing Service and The Green Project along to the event.

All of the organisations are sending people who can advise on what support they can offer and will have information leaflets to give out. Everything is completely free, and there is free tea or coffee and biscuits for anyone who calls in. It runs between 10am and 6pm and everyone is invited to pop in and have a look around.

, founder of Second Thoughts East Yorkshire, said;

“More people are struggling with maintaining good mental health nowadays, largely because of the stresses of modern day living. We run small groups across the county on anxiety management and building confidence for example.”

“We also work with employers on mental health awareness. There are other local organisations offering support too, but finding them can be hard without a little signposting. Through this event we are hopeful that people will call in and see what great support there is available from all of the local agencies.”

Sally Cullingworth, one of the founders of new charity ‘Aim Higher’ said;

“We have created a new charity empowering families facing autism, mental health and educational barriers. People can struggle for weeks, months or even years without finding any support.”

“We think that this event is a wonderful idea and we are delighted to come along so people can drop in and find out more about what we have to offer.”
