Five Things To Discover This Summer At Beverley Treasure House

Treasure House

This summer will see lots to do for young children – and their families – at Sewerby Hall and Gardens, and at the Treasure House in , as they both take part in ‘Five Things to Discover’, in association with the Humber Museums Partnership.

‘Five things to discover’ is aimed at encouraging the exploration and discovery of museums in the area over the summer.

Councillor Richard Burton, portfolio holder for civic wellbeing and culture, said:

“We welcome people of all ages to take part, and the activities we have come up with have been designed with the very youngest family members in mind.”

Taking advantage of all that Sewerby Hall and Gardens has to offer, children will be encouraged to try these five things:

• Walk like a penguin (whilst visiting the zoo)
• Stand like a statue (in the gardens)
• Dress up (boys and girls have lots of chances to do this in the hall)
• Play with a toy in the nursery (in the hall)
• Get pictured with the guard dogs (statues) by the main gates.

At The Treasure House, visitors can:

• paint like Fred Elwell
• moo like a cow
• play at the beach
• colour an Iron Age sword
• take a close look at the museum.

Visitors will be able to pick up a leaflet about the Five Things to Discover during their trips to both venues.

Admission charges to the estate are £6.50 for adults, £4.40 for children and £20 for a family (two adults and two children).
