 East Riding School Sport Partnership Annual Award Ceremony

Recently the East Riding School Sport Partnership held their annual award ceremony.

There were 6 different categories rewarding students for sporting achievement both in and out of school in both primary and secondary schools from the Bridlington, Beverley, South Holderness and Hornsea areas.

The attached photo shows the winners from Beverley Grammar School with Rob Hayles (former GB cyclist). Each category had 5 runners up and a 3rd, 2nd and 1st place.

Beverley Grammar School winners:

• Graeme Anderson (15) runner up in the Support in a Voluntary Leadership/Volunteer Role.
• George Bennett-Teare (14) runner up in Outstanding Individual Performance in PE.
• Charlie Barker and Bailey Young (both 12) attended on behalf of the Year 7 Rugby Team who were runners up in Outstanding School Team.
• Matthew Bloomfield and (both 13) attended on behalf of the Year 8 Football team who came second in Outstanding School Team.
• Tom Waterhouse (15) 2nd in Outstanding Individual Performance in Sport.
• Will Dearing (12) runner up in Outstanding Commitment to Extra Curricular Clubs in School and

Harrison Morrow (16) who was also a runner up in Outstanding Individual Performance in Sport. (Will and Harrison were not pictured)

The final award of the night was for sport personality of the year; Sam Hopson (14) won this award against some tough opposition due to his recent achievements in pentathlon, swimming, rugby, football and biathlon as well as leadership in school sport.
