July Music At East Riding Theatre

After a sell-out performance in 2015, Beverley’s East Riding Theatre is bringing back the popular Québec band Le Vent du Nord as a part of its musical programme for July.

The multi-award winning band are now a major name on the international touring circuit in this country and around the world, winning over audiences with their dynamic performances and charismatic stage presence.

Their glorious mix of fiddle and foot-tapping, guitar, accordion, piano, bass, hurdy-gurdy and wonderful four part harmonies is their trademark, whilst at the same time delivering catchy songs and tunes, from the Québec traditional folk repertoire plus original compositions. The group has a rich and varied instrumentation and their well-polished musical arrangements simply enhance their uplifting repertoire.

Le Vent du Nord captures the energy and mirth of a Saturday night kitchen party, infusing old Québec with a breath of fresh, cosmopolitan air.

And for the first time the theatre will also welcome an extraordinary young duo from New Orleans, Thomas and Theresa. Having grown up in the small, Southwest Louisiana town of Sulphur, they quickly began performing as a guitar-mandolin duo in local coffee houses and venues, eventually making their way to festival stages in England. Thomas’s exuberant bluegrass and Neapolitan mandolin techniques coupled with Theresa’s hard-driving guitar playing and vocal harmonies captivate audiences.
