Young people who are keen to get into work can apply for more than 50 apprenticeship vacancies at two East Riding College events.
They will be an opportunity to apply, be interviewed and shortlisted for a wide variety of opportunities across the region.
Luci Scott, the College’s business development manager, said: “This is the perfect time of year for young people to apply to become an apprentice as many are about to leave school or finish their current course.
“These events are an opportunity to find out more about each apprenticeship, take part in a quick interview and put yourself forward for genuine vacancies with employers who are looking for new staff right now.”
She added: “Apprentices are an excellent way to start your career and are available in hundreds of job roles.
Apprenticeships are work-based courses which involve learning and gaining qualifications while working for an employer, and are available in more than 200 subjects.
An apprentice works at the employer’s premises, gaining practical experience and skills while working towards a level two or three qualification which is relevant to their job.
They will normally work full-time with the employer, with one day per week (during term-time) spent at East Riding College. However, some apprenticeships do not require college attendance and are achieved solely in the workplace.
Anyone attending the events is advised to bring along a CV. For more information about the apprenticeship vacancies, go to www.eastridingcollege.ac.uk/apps or call 0345 120 0044.
