Beverley Musical Theatre Present 9 to 5 At The Memorial Hall

Beverley Musical Theatre are putting the final touches to their latest production 9 to 5 that will take place at the Beverley Memorial Hall in June.

Alison White from the Beverley Musical Theatre said;

“9 to 5 the musical  it is a completely different genre of musical to those Beverley Musical Theatre have done before and is excellent challenge and forerunner to our production of Legally Blonde in 2017/2018 depending when we can get into the theatre.”

“The songs are so varied and show Dolly Parton’s talent for varying her musical styles to suit everyone. The three principal female characters are a real treat for an actress and it allows them to show off their excellent acting skills.”

9 to 5 is based in a standard American office where women work 9 to 5 and are completely  undermined and passed over by  their sexist, egotistical bigot of a boss, until  three  women  take charge and turn the tables on him giving the whole office a new lease of life.

One of the main song is 9 to 5 which everyone will know, but there are some lovely poignant songs, Change It, I Just Might and Get Out and Stay Out which really tell the story of how the women take charge of their destiny.

Alison added;

“The show is perfect for all ages and will appeal to  really varied groups of people, Musical lovers, Dolly Parton fans and an ideal show for groups of people to come and have a glass of sparkly and enjoy an uplifting, funny, thought provoking and downright entertaining show.”

The show starts on June 14th to 18th at 7.30pm and Sat matinee at 2.30pm on the 18th June.
