Football lovers will be able to take part in a brand new 6 a side football league that kicks off in Beverley this June.
Run by Leisure Leagues, Europe’s largest provider of small sided football, the new league gets under way at Longcroft School on Sunday 12 June with fixtures taking place each week between 6-8PM.
All standards are catered for with New Business Manager Chris Rowntree saying:
“Whether you fancy yourself as the next Lionel Messi, or you are an honest trier who loves the game, or just a plain old Titus Bramble, then we can find room for you here.”
“We have been running leagues for 30 years and we are confident that we can give the same enjoyment to the community of Beverley that we have already in so many places.”
While entry into the league is free, matches on the day will cost £26 per side as teams battle it out to win trophies, medals and the coveted Leisure League prize box.
A fun, but competitive game is assured and by taking part profits from the league will be donated to charity, a move that has been praised by many lovers of football.
Fully qualified referees will oversee games with all equipment provided. All of this is backed up by the strongest discipline structure there is, to ensure the games are competitive and fun.
Football is a great way to get fit while also having fun at the same time. On average people will burn off 800 calories per hour when talking part in a football session.
Playing regular sport also helps reduce blood pressure and build self confidence and also helps to build and tone muscle.
