Roadworks Due To Start On B1248

Work to improve the road surface on the B1248 between the Dog Kennel Lane roundabout and the crossroads at Cherry Burton is due to start this week.

As part of ’s programme of highway maintenance, the work will start on Monday, 7 March 2016 and is expected to be completed by Thursday, 24 March 2016.

The scheme will consist of replacing the existing road surface, maintaining the drainage system, installing some new kerbing as well as replacing the road markings.

In order to minimise disruption to commuter the B1248 will remain open to motorists during the day when some of the drainage and kerbing works will take place but lights and a convoy system will be in operation between 7pm and 6am.

There will be some temporary road closures to Main Street, Cherry Burton and Leconfield Road on 8 March, 14 March and 15 March and diversions will be in place from 6pm to 6am to allow the road surface to be replaced through the crossroads.

The Council would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience or delays whilst this work takes place, however we will try and keep disruption to a minimum.
