Macular Society Voted Beverley Building Society’s Charity of the Month

Macular Society Hull Group charity has been voted ’s Charity of the Month for January by its members.

Beverley Building Society’s donation of £250 will help to support the charity’s efforts to help those who have been affected by central vision loss.

The Macular Society is a national charity which operates within East Yorkshire for anyone affected by central vision loss. With over 21,000 members nationally, they are the biggest membership group in the sight loss sector and the voice of people with macular conditions.

The Hull Group provide free information and support to improve lives and ensure no one has to face macular disease alone. There are around 300 Macular Society support groups around the UK and beyond. They fund research so that one day macular disease can be overcome.

Charity representative Clive said;

“Thank you to the members of Beverley Building Society who voted Macular Society Charity of the Month for January.”

“The donation will help support our mission into funding research so that one day we can overcome macular disease and to offer information and support to improve lives today. With an ageing population, more and more people are affected by macular disease.”

“Donations such as the Beverley Building Society’s is crucial as we aim to raise as much money as possible to help fund research into treatments and to help find a cure, as well as continuing to provide information and support for those with macular disease.”
