Could You Be a Governor at East Riding College?

The Governing Body of is seeking to recruit a new member who can bring accountancy experience to the table.

The role of a governor involves taking a strategic overview of the College’s activities through a series of meetings and various other activities.

Simon Wright, Chair of the Corporation said:

“Governors play a vital role in shaping the education of the thousands of people of all ages who attend East Riding College every year.”

“The knowledge and experience they bring to the Corporation are essential in determining the strategic direction of the College and I know our governors find their contribution very rewarding indeed.”

Most governors attend around eight formal meetings a year but also have the opportunity to attend training, networking events and College events, such as staff conferences, learner focus groups and award ceremonies.

Meetings are held first thing in the morning or in the early evening, chiefly at the campus.
This is a voluntary role, where governors give their time and experience to work with other like-minded people to benefit the development of the College and the local community.
