Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Donate £500 to Beverley

has donated £500 from funds they raised to the town of .

A cheque was presented to the Mayor of Beverley Cllr at the offices of Beverley Town Council by Fareed Ahmad the National Secretary External Affairs at Ahmadiyya Muslim Association.

Monies donated by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association to Beverley will be split between the two Mayors Chosen Charities of the year, and The Stroke Victim Support Group.

Mr. Ahmad commenting on the donation said;

“We are delighted to present this money to the Mayor of Beverley. We understand that smaller charities are finding it harder to get funding.”

“Both of the Beverley Community Lift and The Stroke Victim Support Group provide vital local services and are both very worthwhile causes.”

Ahmadiyya Muslim Association ho have 1320 UK branches raise money throughout the year by holding different events, including a mass sponsored walk in London.

Mr. Ahmad explained;

“For the past 15 years, we have held a sponsored walk in London raising over £300K in sponsorship. We are now collectively on a mission to make 100 £500 donations to small charities around the UK.”

“By undertaking this, we hope to meet new people and build relationships with people in while doing something to support the charities who operate in smaller towns.”

Ahmadiyya Muslim Association has received wide-spread praise for their current campaign United Against Extremism.

Minister for Countering Extremism, Lord Tariq Ahmad said of their work;

“We are an incredible, inclusive and progressive nation where the diversity of our communities is our strength.”

“I pay tribute to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community who have shown that devotion to faith is the foundation to a selfless desire to serve humanity driven by a deep sense of loyalty to our nation.”

Other work in the community includes members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association helping the Royal British Legion by selling Poppies.

In recent week’s younger members of the group have been out clearing litter form the streets while older members have being providing support following the recent floods.
