Stick Around For Creative Festive Fun At East Riding Libraries

Wizarding Fun At Beverley Library

Celebrating the animated release of ‘Stick Man’, are running a fun competition which will provide a creative task over the Christmas break.

The enthralling children’s tale follows Stick Man, who lives in the family tree with his Stick Lady Love and their Stick children three, as he heads on an epic adventure across the seasons.

Written by The Gruffalo author Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, the story is being modified for the small screen by Oscar-nominated entertainment company Magic Light Pictures and will feature as part of BBC One’s Christmas Day line-up.

Children are tasked with creating their very own Stick Man, which can be submitted to participating libraries between 4 and 23 January, 2016. Libraries will then display the submissions for public vote, and the winner at each library will be announced during the week commencing 8 February.

The competition is open to primary school children, and sticks must be no longer than 30cm.
