Local businesses come up with the goods for Cherry Burton Pre-School

This Christmas looks to be the merriest of all for Cherry Burton Pre-School, thanks to the generosity of local businesses.

The annual Cherry Burton Pre-school Christmas raffle will raise more money than ever before due to the fabulous prizes donated by local Beverley businesses – most notably the star prize of a hamper filled with Christmas goodies, including a Windows tablet and a bottle of champagne from Hunters Estate Agents.

“We have been totally amazed at the generosity of local shops and businesses, and to get the star prize from Hunters Estate Agents was just incredible,” enthused Claire Newton, Manager at the Pre-school. “We are a small Pre-school doing great things for local children, and it is so nice to have this recognition. Although we are only a few minutes from Beverley, we are often overlooked, so this support is truly important. We are hoping to raise £3,000 for the Pre-school this year, and proceeds from this raffle will really help us reach our target.”

Hunters Estate Agents Delighted to Support Cherry Burton Pre-school

Leanne Marshall from Hunters Estate Agents in Beverley came along to the event and drew the winning ticket for the star prize. She commented;

“We are really delighted to support Cherry Burton Pre-school and its excellent work educating children in the local area. It has been a privilege to be part of their Celebration of Christmas and join in the fun and games with the children and staff. At Hunters, we believe it’s important to give something back to the communities you work in, so this is a really lovely opportunity to do just that.”

The raffle was part of the annual Pre-school Celebration of Christmas event in , Cherry Burton. Children dressed as angels and kings and sang songs at a special service in the Church. They were also treated to a surprise visit from Father Christmas, a treasure hunt, glitter tattoos, as well as cakes and refreshments.

Parent Emma Laycock said, “It’s been brilliant. My daughter loves coming to this Pre-school, and this is just one example of the exciting things they organise for the children. I am really delighted that so many businesses have supported us, as it means we can provide even more interesting and stimulating events for the children to enjoy over the coming year.”
