East Riding Leisure Beverley Join Forces With East Riding College

Since September, East Riding College in in Beverley has been located almost next to the council’s recently refurbished .

Since the start of this academic year, students at the College have been taking advantage of the excellent facilities in the Leisure Centre, in a new partnership with the council.

People studying towards sport coaching, development and fitness qualifications are taking theory lessons in their new £14 million campus, whilst also benefitting from practical sessions using the indoor and outdoor facilities at East Riding Leisure Beverley.

Matt Jeffery, College Sport Maker, said:

“Now that we’ve moved to our new Flemingate campus, the leisure centre is far more accessible to all of our students than it used to be.”

“Our sports studies students have always used the facilities for their practical sessions and now with our new location, we can offer an exciting, varied menu of activities to the entire college population.”

“Our students are enjoying traditional sports hall activity like badminton and short tennis, as well as accessing the fantastic fitness equipment in the Tone Zone.”

Coby Kemp, senior facility manager of East Riding Leisure Beverley, added:

“We are absolutely delighted to be able to welcome the students from the College to use our wonderful facilities here.”

“They have added a real ‘buzz’ to the place, and it’s great that we are contributing directly to their future success in life.”
